On Saturday 29th June Bra-vissima Choir brought the joy of song and music making to an audience at Hutton and Shenfield Union Church. This summer concert was in aid of St Francis’ Hospice and it was wonderful to have a representative of the organisation in attendance.
A varied programme of choral arrangements of traditional songs, poetry and contemporary pieces reflected the many ways in which music can bring joy to us all and a moment of respite from busy and sometimes stressful lives.
As a choir we all relish our weekly rehearsal as a time to escape and experience the joy of singing together and it is therefore a privilege to be able to share this with a wider audience at concerts throughout the year. This summer concert was certainly no exception.
We are now looking forward to a summer of music making together as we prepare to sing at Chelmsford Cathedral in early August and in Italy later that month.
No small thanks go to our musical director, Julia Wilson-James, for her time and commitment to challenging us to sing a wide repertoire of beautiful and varied choral music and instilling in us her joy and passion for music making!
